At Arabian Self Opening Doors Ltd, our journey began in 1974. At the time in New Zealand, there were few players in the automatic doors and gates industry. Since then, our commitment to providing only the best products, combined with reliable service, both during and after the sale, quickly helped us build a reputation for quality.
As a family-owned business based in Auckland, we pride ourselves on being the preferred supplier of sliding doors and gates for a variety of commercial establishments like bank branches, airports, supermarkets, gas stations, retail shops, and more. Our products are also used in residential properties and are available across the country as well as internationally. We have a long list of satisfied customers going back to 1974, which we believe is due to our motto of “Right first time, on time!”
From the mid 1970s onwards, we worked closely with the newly formed supermarket industry, assembling and servicing the first commercial automatic sliding doors sold in New Zealand.
Backed by the growing popularity and rapid growth in the Arabian brand of products, we introduced the Camé brand of automatic gate operators produced in Italy; the first residential systems to be sold in the local market.
As the company grew in the early 1990s, we added a nationwide Services division and began exploring export opportunities in overseas markets. Soon we began seeing a growing customer base in Australasia and the Pacific Islands.
At the same time, we constantly innovated and created new product standards in New Zealand. We added preventative maintenance (IQP) inspections, as well as an architectural hardware division and component supply centre for local technical support providers.
Our commitment to technological innovations helped us design and develop the first locally-made auto door operators, sold in New Zealand and overseas under the Arabian brand. The latest versions of these, known as the Ultraslide and Ultraswing door operators, are now market leaders in NZ and specified by builders, architects and joinery companies on a regular basis.
Our Ultraslide unit has been so popular that we have successfully completed a number of large projects, both here and overseas, including the Sylvia Park Shopping Centre in Auckland, Nadi Airport, Fisher & Paykel factories, service stations such as BP and most supermarket chains throughout New Zealand.
